Embossing: Extra Strong / Glass. No base mark.

Type: Aerated Water Codd

Variety: Machine applied top, this has an offset seam through the lip. Original codd style patent with two tear drops. Black. 10 oz.

Era: 1970s

Height: 229 mm

Condition: Very Good. Little flake to front base edge. Couple of scuff marks. A few little impact marks. A very dark colour, it is hard to see through to detect any damage. This is extremely crude though with folds, streaks, bubbles and so forth throughout. A few bubbles are at the surface. Any odd marks seem to be from making. As for when it was made, that is a good question? Of Indian origin, codds are still made in India to this day. With an offset seam through the lip, this is certainly a later example which could be from 1930s onwards with this style of lip, I have guessed 1970s, but do not know for sure. Whatever the case - a black codd complements any codd collection.

Grade: 7.8

Condition: Very Good. Stained throughout. A few little impacts or fisheyes to the upper lip. A few fisheyes around the base edge. Fisheye to rear upper body. Some scuffs and scratches. A few little fisheyes to the body. One of the L's and a T have nicks to them, the rest of the embossing is pretty good with minor marks. A rare bottle with the flat back, why is it so made? Very odd indeed, we think the only marble bottle in the world to have a purpose made flat section to the rear?

Grade: 7.5

Embossing: J Parkinson / Trade / (JP in a circle) / Mark / Wollongong. Base: S. (New South Wales)

Little impact surface flake to right base edge. Some impacts and fisheyes scattered around, several of which have a rusty type of discolouration to them. Scuffs and scratches scattered around. Quite a heavy bottle, this is a decent example of this early variation.

Grade: 7.3

Small scuffed mark near the embossed J to the left. Embossing is quite good, there are some spots of wear to the high points of some of it.
