2 labelled poisons: 1. Labelled hexagonal poison bottle: Neck label: In dissolving this salt cold water should / be employed, and in addition, sufficient / acetic acid to give a clear solution. Main label: Acetate of Morphia. / POISON. / (Extremely elaborate coat of arms TM) / Prepared by / J.F. Macfarlan & Compy / Manufacturing Chemists / Edinburgh & London. Bottle is embossed down one panel: Not To Be Taken, the two adjacent panels to this have five lines embossed down them, with the three rear panels being plain. Base is unembossed. 2. Labelled Hexagonal poison bottle. Wax seal on top: Martindale / London. Label: Trade (Bird) Mark / W. Martindale, Chemist, / 10 New Cavendish Street, W. / POISON / Antiluetin. 1/2 oz. Bottle has three panels with four or five vertical lines embossed down each, the other three are plain. Base embossed: 56. Poison Poison 1. Applied top, tooled finish. Hexagonal poison, wide mouth. Cobalt. 1 oz. 2. Applied top, tooled finish. Cobalt. 1/2 oz. N/A. 1900s

1. Near Mint. Some grime around the upper part. Label has discoloured, bottom right of main label is torn, with some wear to the right and left side in general. None of the printed part has been effected. A superb and interesting example of this poison bottle. (9.4) 2. Mint. This has the original cap with a red wax seal bearing the chemists name retaining the original string which is sealing the cap in place (We have never seen this before). The label is discoloured.
