Sold for A$90

Martin & Pleasance (M&P Monogram) 85, Collins Street East. / Melbourne. Under base: Toogood / Patent / London. Pot Lid Pot Base Round with Toogood Patent grooves. Black print on white. 74 mm diameter. 1890s

Very Good. Actually this one looks like it has barely been cleaned given some of the light surface stuff around the rim so should come up even better. There are some discoloured, heavy crazing/hairlines under the base and to be seen on the inner base. Some light stain here and there and a rust spot to the left side. A couple of very shallow flakes under the left base edge. Nice strong print with a few glaze misses amongst it. Great looking base and very hard to get, especially in this condition. Comes with a fitting lid but not a correct Toogood Patent one. Grading for base only. Grade: 7.8 Estimate: $200 - 250
