A little fine usage wear under base. Couple of small and very fine fisheyes to the body. Some very fine and minor scuffs around the shoulder. 2 x 1.5 mm chip to the embossed heart. Strong embossing, some of it has some nibbles and minor marks, but in general it is very nice. Tiny nick to lower right lip. A superb bottle, we sold a Lyons codd in the last auction but it was totally different! This pictorial one with a heart is in great unpolished condition, having been found in New Zealand it has been unaffected by the acidic Western Australian soil. Is there a better example known?

Era: 1890s

Embossing: C. Sheekey / Trare (sic) / (CS / G in a circle) / Mark / Reg / Goulburn // This bottle / is the property of / C. Sheekey / and is never sold. Base: Large Triangle. (New South Wales)

Type: Aerated Water Codd

Variety: Dobson or Four way type. Spun finished top. Aqua. 13 oz.

Era: 1910s

Height: 232 mm

Condition: Very Good. Interestingly, this is an error bottle with the word TRADE clearly spelt TRARE. A couple of short pitted scratches to inner lip. Little flake near rear dimple and a small impact near this as well. Another nick near the other rear dimple. Front dimple has a small flaked spot too. Tiny nick to rear body. Little flake to rear base edge, little nick around from this and a nibbled section along the heel which looks more like a making mark, but may be a scrape mark of some sort. Some scuffs and scratches, mainly around the shoulder. Embossing is flaked and worn in places, but heavy. Probably a bit over half of the letters at the front have some form of flaking. A nice shiny example in general that looks great and is highly unusual with the spelling mistake.

Embossing: C. Tindall / Trade (Train) Mark / Beaconsfield. Base Mark: M. (Tasmania)

Type: Aerated Water Codd

Variety: Applied top, tooled finish. Four way pour Dobson style patent with four dimples. Aqua. 13 oz.

Era: 1910s

Height: 230 mm

Condition: Good. Looks great throughout - EXCEPT for the left lip. About a third of the inner front and left lip has some nibbled flakes which are not overly bad at all. However, there is a bruise that goes right around this over about 35 x 14 or so mm, and this bruise goes right through the glass thickness in a fractured manner. Lightly oiled inside, although this would not have been necessary. Some fine scuffs and scratches around the shoulder. A bit of crate wear to the word Beaconsfield towards the base. Actually, some minor crate wear to the upper embossing as well, the train is all good. A decent example to fill a gap in your collection, these are rated very highly as they are quite hard to get and there are very few train pictorial codds in Australia. Graded as good as it looks so nice on the shelf, the damage is borderline at a lower grade though.

Small lip split from making. Scattered fisheyes and impact marks, nothing too deep though. Some scratches and minor marks. Strong embossing has some nicks and high point wear, but is really good in general. This is a great looking example which should actually grade higher. A very rare bottle!

Impact to front right base edge has a 6 x 7 mm chip from it. Tiny surface flake to lower right body. A few little pitted marks. Some scratches and fisheyes. This is a solid example of a very rare bottle!
