A couple of other tiny impacts to lip. 3 x 2 mm nibbled flake to right rear mid lip. A little wear to the inner chamber. The outer chamber has some deep wear across it to both front and back, and again some scuffed wear below the neck groove to the upper body, heaviest at the front. Some very light inner haze. Tiny nick to left upper body. Some small fisheyes and impact marks. Light scratches to be found. Some fine crate wear to the embossing, mainly just the upper letters. Couple of nibbled flakes to the embossing in places. A pitted scratch or two near base. Crude surface marks from making to the rear.

Embossing: Eclipse / Aerated Water / & / (Royal Eagle in a Belt or Rope design) / Trade / Mark / Ice Mfg Coy Ld / Kalgoorlie. Base: KBT Monogram / 2137.

Type: Aerated Water Codd

Variety: Bulge or Bulb type. Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz.

Era: 1890s

Height: 239 mm

Condition: Very Good. 4 x 3 mm bruise to upper right lip. 6 x 4 mm bruise to right upper body from an impact mark. Smoothed over surface flake to the right upper chamber. This has had an early hand polish or buff to the upper half mostly. Eclipse is slightly rounded from this, the aerated water words below this are more flattened, but the embossing from this point down is pretty much untouched! Dull throughout, the upper dullness looks more to be a result from the attempted polish? Tiny open bubble to upper right. Some little impacts and fisheyes to be found. Some fine scratches. Actually one of the better examples as these generally are heavily polished - at least this example is only partly polished.

Type: Aerated Water Codd

NOTE: We have made an amendment to the condition grading. We added, "This bottle has a fracture to the lower rear lip which is a little discoloured, this is angled along the applied area and up a little", we initially missed this due to the location of it. The grading was 7.3 prior to this.

Type: Aerated Water Codd

Variety: Dobson or Four Way type closure. Applied top. Green-aqua. 13oz.

Era: 1890s

Height: 228 mm

Condition: Very Good. Polished. Bottle has been cleaned but most signs of manufacture still evident. Most of seams still there and mould marks on surface of glass still to be seen over the surface. Small pits, scratches and marks can be seen on body of bottle but don't really detract. There is a tiny split on the top of the lip only about 1 mm, this is from manufacture. It's possible the top has just been slightly re-shaped by a fraction of a millimetre, this is only a possibility as we really cannot tell for sure. There is a shallow and small burst bubble to the right seam near the shoulder. Has some light stain internally down the left side which does not detract in any way. Overall a superb example of one of Australia's best pictorial marble bottles.

Embossing: J. Oppy / * Condobolin *. Smooth base. (New South Wales)

Type: Aerated Water Codd

Variety: Dobson or Four way. Spun finished top. Aqua. 10 oz.

Height: 235 mm

Condition: Very Good. Has been oiled internally at some stage, the rubber lip washer has stuck to the inner surface from this. A long fibre has adhered to the inside half way down as well, this may look like a crack in the photographs, it is not at all. Fold in lip from making, this is not damage at all. Couple of surface lip splits from making. Stained throughout. Some scratches to be found, there is a deep scratch to the mid front. Some scuffs and minor surface marks. A few fisheyes, these are small and mostly around the base edge. Nice embossing has one or two minor flakes and marks. This would polish up extremely well. A solid example of a rare bottle, this was sent to us after achieving $1,750 for one in the previous auction. No reserve on this.
