E, J, Prevot. No potters stamp. (Melbourne bottle). Ginger Beer Cork Stoppered Dump shape. Salt glaze, impressed. 10 oz. 169 mm. 1860s-1870s
Very Good. One of the best examples we've seen of these. Has a 3 x 2 mm glaze flake through the back left lip. Front shoulder has a 3 x 2 mm flake just through the glaze as well. Rest of the shoulder has some pinprick type marks and scuffs. At the base on the back left and rear are two chips: 9 x 4 mm and 11 x 6 mm. Some little glaze marks and scuffs around the body. Small glaze flake to body and one or two short scratches. Nice stamp, good looking glaze, this is a really nice early Melbourne ginger beer. Grade: 7.6 Estimate: $40 - 60
