Elaborate Patent Corkscrew. Wine Cork Screw Metal Cork Screw. 140 mm. 1900s
Very Good. In perfect working order. Some of the plating has worn, there are some scratches to the metal. The idea behind this corkscrew is to wind the bar at the top up to the top of the thread, the nut over the top of the bar folds over the thread to stop the bar from winding down the thread, then screw the cork screw into the cork in the bottle, and then lift the nut up, wind the bar and the leverage action of the bar against the body forces the cork to be pulled up, and therefore out of the bottle.
